Hello, everyone!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to those of you who have come from far away countries to become a part of our schools.
The schools and educational system here in Japan are probably different from where you come from. We hope that this website will provide you with a little bit of insight into Japanese schools.
In Japan, children start school at the age of six. There are six years of elementary school and three years of junior high school. The school year starts in April and ends in March. There is no school on Saturdays or Sundays.
No tuition is required for the nine years of compulsory education. However, you will be expected to pay for learning materials, school lunch, field trips, and other such things.

This DVD can be viewed at public elementary and junior high schools in Chiba Prefecture.
