1) Appointment of CHI-BA+KUN Global Partners

CHIBA-BA+KUN Global Partners

The Chiba Prefectural Government works to support the creation of a prefecture in which all residents, regardless of nationality, language, culture, or customs, can live and work together in harmony. To further this aim, the CHI-BA+KUN Global Partners Program has been in place since 2020. The program invites foreign residents to make use of their viewpoints by offering their opinions on prefectural policies and sharing information with the public.

On Thursday, April 20, 29 foreign residents who live, work, or study in Chiba Prefecture were appointed as CHI-BA+KUN Global Partners for the 2023-2024 fiscal year in a ceremony held at the Chiba Prefectural Government Office. This year’s Partners, who come from 10 different countries and regions, will utilize their perspectives to cooperate with Chiba Prefecture in a wide range of activities, including providing information to foreigners and participating in opinion exchange meetings and events held by the Prefecture.

  4. Activity Details
    ・Take part in opinion exchange meetings and participate in questionnaires
    ・Participate in events and “monitor tours” held by the Prefecture and promote Chiba’s appeal
    ・Distribute information from the Prefecture
    ・Contribute to the Prefectural Government’s efforts in making Chiba Prefecture a more comfortable place to live

1) Chiba Prefecture 150th Anniversary Opening Event

This year (2023) marks the 150th anniversary of the founding of Chiba Prefecture, which was created through the merging of Kisarazu and Inba Prefectures on June 15, 1873.

Under the theme of "Looking back on the past 150 years and thinking about the future that will follow," the Chiba Prefectural Government will hold commemorative events throughout the prefecture from June 2023 to June 2024 in cooperation with municipalities and the private sector.

To start this year off, an opening event to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Chiba Prefecture will be held in Matsudo City on Sunday, June 11. We hope to see you there!

  • A dance stage featuring street dance performances like breakdancing, with appearances from Bayfm’s MC KENSAKU and Bboy Shigekix, one of Japan’s leading breakdancers, to liven up the stage
