Social Activities

There are a series of external communication and relationship programs, held in Chiba Cancer Center Research Institute (CCCRI), such as public education events of the summer school, social exhibition events for cancer prevention and meetings with cancer patients, survivors and their family. The summer school has been held, since, 1998, for students from junior high school to high school as a “satellite school for future scientists”. Students experienced extraction of DNA, preliminary analytical examination of their own DNA and observation of own blood cells with microscope. In Chiba Cancer Center (CCC), “FUREAI HIROBA (Companion Square)” was founded in 1990, and various exhibitions have been held and publication of booklets has also been performed in collaboration with cancer survivors and members from across all the sections of CCC, including CCCRI. We also participate in public events for cancer prevention activities, and communications with cancer patients and survivors (photos).
