Nature Gives Birth to Strength

Surrounded on three sides by water, and blessed with a warm climate, Chiba is home to vast stretches of rich greenery. As the meeting point of the warm Kuroshio and cool Oyashio currents, it is the habitat and breeding ground of a diverse amount of flora and fauna from both north and south.

With these natural blessings, it has been a prosperous home for human beings for over 40,000 years. These people farmed the land and fished the seas, forming sato-yama and sato-umi, and gave birth to the various local industries and cultures of Chiba.
