The agency deals with promoting infrastructural projects aimed at urban and industrial development. These include the development of the Keiyo Coastal Industrial Zone and Inland Industrial Parks, Makuhari New City and Chiba New Town, as well as the prefecture's industrial waterworks system. Future plans are to further step up development throughout the prefecture to create new urban and regional bases, as for instance Narita International Distribution Complex, Tukuba Express New City, and inland industrial parks.
